About the Scholarship

We're thrilled to announce an incredible opportunity for young, Black LGBTQIA+ individuals in Central Ohio! The Black, Out & Proud Scholarship (BOP Scholars) Program is now accepting applications, and we need your help to make dreams come true.

 

Empowering Our Youth

The BOP Scholars Program is more than just a scholarship – it's a beacon of hope and support for young people who identify as both Black and LGBTQIA+. We're on a mission to provide financial assistance for: 

  • Post-secondary education

  • Job training

  • Skill acquisition

Our goal? To uplift and empower the next generation of leaders in our community.

Who Can Apply?

We're looking for amazing young individuals who:

 

  • Call Central Ohio home (Franklin, Licking, Fairfield, Delaware, Pickaway, or Union County)

  • Are between 17-24 years old (as of March 31, 2025)

  • Identify as Black and LGBTQIA+

  • Have a passion for community service

  • Are ready to embark on their educational or career journey by October 1, 2025

In our inaugural year, we're excited to offer two scholarships of $1,000 each. These awards can be the stepping stones to a brighter future for two deserving individuals.
